Diodes Incorporated (Diodes Incorporated) introduced synchronous rectifier controller APR343, designed to meet the mobile phones and other portable electronic device chargers requirements for highly integrated, efficient and affordable solutions. The device integrates output voltage sensing into the secondary side MOSFET driver to support the primary side control system.

The circuit configuration of the APR343 utilizes an external MOSFET to increase flexibility. The device senses the MOSFET drain-to-source voltage and performs synchronous rectification in discontinuous conduction mode. When the output voltage is below a certain threshold, a periodic signal is given to drive the MOSFET. The new product quickly responds to the secondary side voltage, improving the transient response of the primary side control system and reducing the power consumption of the secondary side rectifier.

APR343 high-performance rectification solution not only provides over-voltage protection and under-voltage lockout function, but also minimizes the number of external components and adopts SOT25 package which can further save board space, effectively meeting the power converter of consumer products and household appliances market.
